Why goat milk? It provides extra moisturizing and gives excellent nutrition to the skin with the vitamins found in milk. Your skin will look and feel smoother, softer and more supple because the milk contains alpha-hydroxy acids (contained in lactic acid) that are key to rejuvenating your skin. Alpha-hydroxy acids are a naturally occurring material that sloughs off dead skin cells thereby exfoliating your skin and leaving you with a healthy glow.
Besides being a natural cleanser and beauty aid, goat milk has the same pH level as your skin so keeps it from becoming dried out. In addition to goat milk, the creamy MoonStar soaps contain such natural oils as olive, palm, coconut and sunflower. Through the soap making process, glycerin is produced. It is an emollient that soothes the skin and acts as a humectant by drawing moisture from the air into the skin.
Most commercially made soaps are synthetic detergent bars. They are made with chemicals and are more harsh. Goat milk soap is a gentle cleansing product that is more appropriate for use on skin.
The soaps, lotions, and creams are handmade in small batches. Small batch size and handcrafted production allows the creation of a high quality product. Another special technique used is re-milling. During this process more milk is added resulting in a luxurious, creamy, and long lasting bar.
MoonStar soaps also are distinguished by assorted designs molded into the bars. Among the designs are Celtic, Victorian, flowers, horses and even a lighthouse. Not surprisingly, the signature MoonStar design consists of a moon and a star.
The molds that are used are pretty as well as eclectic and, with a variety of fragrances, the soap smells as nicely as it looks.
Like the soaps, MoonStar lotions have natural ingredients, highlighted by goat milk. Non-petroleum based emulsifying wax, moisturizing oils, vitamin E, and aloe vera add to the high quality of these products. Uniquely, the preservative used is a non-paraben product which has been safely used for decades without incident.
The face cream and a body cream ingredients utilize moisturizing oils such as olive, avocado, raspberry, calendula, coco and shea butter, and lanolin. The creams, just like the lotions, are non-greasy and long-lasting.
Lip balms also carry the MoonStar label. They come in one–ounce tubes of Peppermint, Vanilla, and Mint Chocolate. The balm is made of beeswax, lanolin, apricot kernel oil, cocoa butter, almond oil, aloe vera gel, vitamin E and allantoin. The natural product, which has no coloring, is smooth, non-greasy and long-lasting.
